THE EDITOR
Four workspaces. One connected tool.
The desktop editor now has working representations of its main areas. Build is for arranging a world. Modeling is for shaping custom meshes. Scripting uses visual blocks to add behavior. Materials is where surfaces and textures come together.
The foundations are in place; each workspace still needs more refinement, better interactions, and bug fixing. Materials is my next main focus, with the goal of making it feel like part of building rather than a separate technical step.
WHAT’S TAKING SHAPE
Start with what exists.
Avatar work has begun. The direction is one customizable body with a range of shapes and proportions; the first version will start with a small set of clothing and options. Modeling, rigging, skinning, materials, clothing, animation, and testing still need to come together.
WHAT COMES LATER
A place to build together.
After Materials, my current plan is to focus on shared online foundations: accounts, friends, presence, ownership, and publishing records. Voice, multiplayer, collaboration, world storage, and publishing follow in the broader roadmap. The sequence may change as the work develops.
DESKTOP + VR
VR is one of the reasons I started somwyr. The aim is for desktop and VR creators to share worlds and, over time, the same core capabilities through interfaces that make sense for each platform. VR work is expected around v1, likely after the first closed-alpha wave; timing and scope may change.

My current plan is to begin a closed alpha as somwyr approaches v1. The first wave will be incomplete and focused on the fundamentals.
